Description:
May have any of the following responsibilities:
- Maintains and/or modifies current programs.
- Codes program modifications.
- May reuse existing code through the use of program development software alternatives or may integrate purchased solutions.
- Assists in the design, preparation, and development of computer all levels of logic flow charts, preparation of test data, testing and debugging programs, preparation of documentation of all procedures used through the system.
- Conducts detailed analyses of all defined systems specifications for changes in systems requirements, client requirements or equipment configurations.
- Develops and prepares computer programs.
- Documents all procedures used throughout the computer program when it is formally established.
- Participates in overall systems testing.
- Supports operations area technical staff in the implementation of the application into production.
- Receives general supervision and is competent in most phases of programming to work on own, and requires general direction for the balance of the activities.
- May assist and help train lower level programmers.
- Works with limited guidance on projects within defined criteria.
- Provides solutions to a diverse range of moderately complex problems.
- Knowledge of client area's functions and systems, proficiency in at least two higher level programming languages and knowledge of state of the art application development support software packages and job control language (JCL) is preferred.
- The contractor will be involved in supporting a variety of Supply Chain based applications from a break fix perspective to major enhancements which follow planned release schedules.
- The programming skill required will be web-based programming using Dream Weaver Cold Fusion and Java Script languages.
- The contractor will need to partner with the business application owner on a regular basis and clear written & verbal communication is critical to understanding the request and creating the necessary documentation required as part of the project management methodology.

Required Skills:
- Experience in application program development experience is preferred.
- Good communication skills, analytical ability, judgment and the ability to work effectively with clients and IT managers and staff is a plus.
- Cold Fusion
- Java
- 5+ years Cold Fusion coding and testing of multiple in-house customized applications (based on functional and technical specifications provided by business subject matter experts).
- 2+ years Database information retrieval (primarily in Oracle databases) for verification of data during coding and testing.
- 2+ years of advanced SQL experience.
- Experience with Oracle databases using stored procedures.
- Coordination of technical and end-user testing and documentation processes prior to code change implementations.
- Preference given to candidates with demonstrated technical/analytical abilities which would allow them to complete projects with minimal intervention from existing staff and to assess and resolve problems independently.
- Ability to work well with a wide variety of internal and external customers and vendors, and to accurately assess and adjust to changing schedules and priorities as needed.
- Ability to assess technical impact of proposed changes to custom applications, and logical implications that create/implement alternative solutions.
- Typically requires 4 - 6 years experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Desired Skills:

- Experience supporting Human Resources, Manufacturing, and/or Accounting applications (in any language).
- Business/functional analysis experience.
- Project management experience.
- Experience supporting data interfaces between disparate software systems.
